There are innumerable choices for brake rotors today. Some are recognizable names that give some assurance of quality. There are many whose principal feature (or only feature) is low cost. These brake disks are treated at every turn as commodities—all are the same and no difference can be determined between this one and the next, and certainly no benefit derived from the selection of one over the other—like salt or pork bellies.

However, Alfa Romeos are not "commodities". They were designed and made to offer superior looks, performance, and enhanced "operator interface" so that the skilled operator—or at least the caring one—could tell what the machinery is doing at each instance. However, if you think that it is important to preserve your Alfa’s responsiveness and the designed levels of feedback, for your car to stop well and keep stopping well, then they are worth the few extra dollars.
